What is ketosis?

Ketosis Is a metabolic process in which your body is burning fat for enegry instead of glucose which is sugar. One of the byproducts of braking down fat is Ketone hence the name Ketosis. Ketosis is a completly natural process which occours once the body has burnt up all the available sugar. 

Doesn’t my body need carbs?

No. There is no such thing as essential carbohydrates. On the other hand there are essential fatty acids (fat) and amino acids (protein). Your body is capable of creating carbohydrates if its needed through a natural process (called gluconeogenesis). 

What if I’m diabetic or have menopause?

Low carb diets are proven to be very effective to keep the blood sugar levels low. So the Keto diet can greatly support Diabetes type 2. Regardning Menopause: many of my clients come to me because they are unable to lose weight after Menopause and the hormone changes that come with it. The keto diet is very benfical for balancing the bodies hormones and therefore very beneficial after menopause. 

Where did Keto come from?

The ketogenic diet became popular as a therapy for epilepsy in the 1920s and 30s. The diet became popular again lately for its weight loss and anti infamatory benefits.  

Isn’t Intermittent Fasting just starving myself?

Intermittent fasting is not not eating, it is a schedule of eating. You smartly time your eating window in order to maximise your fat burning and increase your health.

How fast will I see results?

Generally people experience 1-2 pounds / 0,5-1 kg weight loss per week, but this depends on your overall health, because weight is a sympthom and not a why. When your body feels healthy it will naturally lose weight. 

What is the ‘keto flu’ and will I get it?

Keto fly is actually keto adaptation and you can expreience feeling run down like a cold, head aches and tiredness, maybe even keto rash, but its very rare. This comes from the body having to learn how to brun fat and be in ketosis. If you pay attention to your B-vitamins and your electrolytes you can fully avoid or minimize the keto flu. 

Do I have to buy a bunch of supplements?

No. However I recommend  2 supplements which greatly assits the trasition into the keto diet. They are a great quality electorlite powder and unfortified nutritioanl yeast. 

I don’t have a lot of time to cook. Will this still work for me?

Absolutely Keto is the simplest diet and it doesnt require that you cook all the time. When you are well advanced into keto and intermittent fasting you will be surprised with how much time you save.  

Will this still work even if my family doesn’t want to go on the diet?

Yes, but it will be a bit harder to stick with the diet, you need to make sure you have a group around you and motivation to keep you going. 

I go out to eat a lot and attend a lot of events. I’m not sure I can stick with another diet.

This is very common and I adress this in my program.  

I need to lose 40+ lbs… I can’t do that in six weeks. Why should I bother?

You are right in 6 weeks you will not achive this much weight loss. However the hardest part is to get going and I get you through the adaptaion into keto and I give you all the theory so you can continue on on your own to your weight goal. 

I can’t afford organic or grass fed meat. What are my other options?

You can try to increase the organic to 50% or as much as you can. However not consuming sugar and processed foods will greatly improve your overall health and your ability to lose weight already.
